Saturday Night Live alum Will Ferrell and Boogie Nights star Mark Wahlberg are teaming up as cops in the upcoming comedy The B Team.
Directing is Adam McKay, who also teamed with Ferrell in 2006’s Talladega Nights (cost $72 million, grossed $148 million) and 2008’s Step Brothers (cost $65 million, grossed $100 million).
According to Variety, the script is unfinished but with a McKay-Ferrell pairing, Sony Pictures Entertainment went ahead and acquired the rights to the film anyway.

Will Ferrell and British comedian Russell Brand are snapped entering a private recording studio in Hollywood on Thursday afternoon.
There’s no word yet on what sort of collaboration the comedic duo might have in the works.
Will, 41, has several projects coming up, including a comedy remake of the 70s TV series Land of the Lost (to be released next July). He’ll also take on the the role of Watson to Sacha Baron Cohen’s Sherlock Holmes in an upcoming comedy.

Ali G/Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen is to play Sherlock Holmes while Will Ferrell has been cast as Watson, his crime-solving partner in a new untitled comedy.
“Just the idea of Sacha and Will as Sherlock Holmes and Watson makes us laugh,” Columbia co-prexy Matt Tolmach told Variety. “Sacha and Will are two of the funniest and most talented guys on the planet, and having them take on these two iconic characters is frankly hilarious.”
The actors previously starred together as rival racecar drivers in the 2006 comedy Talladega Nights: The Legend Of Ricky Bobby.
Baron Cohen, who most recently starred in Sweeney Todd, has been filming Bruno which is expected to be released in May 2009.
Will Ferrell films scenes from his upcoming film, Land of the Lost at the LaBrea tar pits in Los Angeles.
Land of the Lost was originally an NBC series which aired in the mid 1970s, and is now set to be made into a comedy movie starring former Saturday Night Live star Will Ferrell.
Will, 40, plays Rick Marshall, who in the TV series is transported with his children Willy and Holly to a strange pre-historic world complete with dinosaurs.
Land of the Lost is expected to be released in theaters nationwide in July 2009.

Supermodel Heidi Klum teams up with comedian Will Ferrell for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Ferrell and Klum had a basketball theme to promote his new film, Semi-Pro, out Feb. 29. (Ferrell plays 1970’s basketball team owner/coach/player, Jackie Moon.) Here’s a bit from SI’s interview with Ferrell:
When you and Heidi got together for the Swimsuit shoot, the atmosphere seemed … Hot! Yeah, she’s a wildcat. Pretty much every shot came down to one of us trying to get the other’s pants off. The one where I’m biting her — can I say A-S-S? — that was one of the craziest moments. She told me, ‘You need to just bite my ass.’ I was kind of mimicking, half-doing it, so she stopped and said, ‘No! Really bite it!’ It was one of the most surreal moments in my entertainment life.
How did Mrs. Ferrell feel about that? My wife is incredibly accepting of all these things. She just rolled with it. She came by the shoot and walked in right at the moment when I was biting Heidi’s butt. Heidi felt slightly self-conscious for a second — and then she went right back into it.

Saturday Night Live alumni Will Ferrell is bringing a one-man-show to Broadway, reports NY Post.
“Ferrell’s as-yet-untitled show, which will have a small supporting cast and a band, will be produced by Jeffrey Richards… The Ferrell Project will be autobiographical and include anecdotes about the comedian’s work… Ferrell also will do some of his fabled impersonations - of George W. Bush, Robert Goulet, Neil Diamond, Jesse Ventura and Inside the Actors Studio host James Lipton,” according to the article.
Ferrell, 40, has starred in hilarious films such as Anchorman, Blades of Glory,Talladega Nights, Elf, Old School and Zoolander.
