Zac Efron is all smiles at the Melbourne premiere of Hairspray on Friday despite girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens’ nude photo scandal.

Co-star Nikki Blonsky stood by Zac’s side at the Jam Factory in Australia.

Aussies can catch Hairspray in theaters on Thursday, Sept. 13.

P.S. Zanessa fans should know that Vanessa has not been fired from anything whatsoever. Rumors circulated last night that Cheetah Girls’ Adrienne Bailon would replace Miss Hudgens in the theatrical release of High School Musical 3.

“Oh my, that story is so 100 percent not true,” Vanessa’s rep told In Touch. “Vanessa’s not an ‘employee’ of Disney, there’s nothing to be fired from.”

Nikki said, “The world is in love for Zac. They see him for his outer beauty. I know him for the inner beauty and it’s four times as beautiful.”

Vanessa Hudgens stood by her main man, Zac Efron, at the Australian Premiere of Hairspray at the Greater Union George Street Cinema on Tuesday in Sydney, Australia.

Vanessa, who wore a cute sequined LBD by Alice + Olivia, apparently canceled her Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance apparently to be with her beau down under. Purse by Chanel, shoes by Christian Louboutin.

Can’t wait for the Zanessa sightings to pour in. Stay tuned!!!

Zac Efron and Hairspray co-star Nikki Blonsky were recently interviewed by PopEntertainment. Here are some highlights:

What was your high school experience like? Was it comfortable because high school can be really weird?

Zac Efron: Mine was relatively average, because I was a good student. I tried to get really good grades, and I did. I left my high school my junior year, with like a 4.3. I was a great student. I was so focused on academics that I really didn’t have time to worry about the pressures of high school. It really was not a tough time for me.

Where did you study dance?

Nikki Blonsky: Nowhere. I learned I was not a dancer before Hairspray. So all the dancing you see in the movie, I just shook what my mama gave me.
Zac Efron: My mama didn’t give me anything, so I just shook what I had.

Zac, I’m interviewing Vanessa [Anne Hudgens] next week. What do you find interesting about her as an actress and person?

Zac Efron: I love watching High School Musical 1. I didn’t go to see the live show of High School Musical, but I watched the concert DVD. The first time I saw the movie; it jumped out to me how much Vanessa could really light up the screen. She is a brilliant performer. She’s such a kind, caring individual and that just really shows through the character she plays, like Tracy. I like working with girls with charisma and I think Vanessa really has that. Vanessa is incredible, she really stands above the rest of the competition and I admire her for that.

Zac recently answered some questions from UK’s Metro:

– Is it true that one in three American teenage girls owns a poster of you? I’ve read that statistic but I don’t believe it. It’s flattering but surreal.

– How long does it take you to do your hair in the morning? Thirty seconds – it just falls that way. If I’ve got an event, a lady will put cream in it but other than that it just lays there.

– Gossip bloggers have been speculating about your sexuality. How do you deal with that? Again, I simply ignore it. I’m just going to continue being myself. I’m not going to let every blogger’s opinions get to me.

UK viewers can watch High School Musical 2 on Disney at 6pm on September 21.

On-and-off-screen couple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens look like tween royalty at the European premiere of High School Musical 2 at London’s O2 Arena on Sunday.

Vanessa paired her stunning strapless floor-grazing gown by Trina Turk with silver Prada mules while Zac wore his pride for London with a navy jacket with a UK flag inner-lining (aka Union Jack jacket).

Zac, 19, recently told People he can’t remember the first time kissing Vanessa, 18.

“I truly didn’t realize that there was not a kiss. It never stuck out to me,” he says.

V recalls there was a kiss, but “on the cheek [and] that’s as far as we got.”

“You guys, your memories are failing you,” director/choreographer Kenny Ortega said Friday at a press conference in London to promote High School Musical 2. “I went to their parents and asked for permission. I went to Vanessa’s mom first, and then to Zac’s mom second and said, ‘Do you mind if I request a kiss in the event that we want to use it for the end of the film?’ And we did it. Then, we all sort of decided that this wasn’t about that.”

“You seemed to enjoy it though,” Ortega said to Zac, who blushed but didn’t deny the comment. (The kiss never made the cut for the first film.)
