Zac Efron arrives at Heathrow Airport in London to promote his new movie 17 Again on Wednesday (March 25).
After passing up an opportunity to star in a remake of Footloose, the 21-year-old actor is currently negotiating to star in Ben Sherwood’s The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud. Efron hopes to play a cemetery caretaker who communes with his dead father.
If things work out, then Efron would be working with director Burr Steers again, who also directed 17 Again.

Zac Efron works out a simple tee and jeans at a photocall for 17 Again on Tuesday (March 24) at Hotel Plaza Athenee in Paris, France. The film opens everywhere on April 17.
The 21-year-old actor recently dropped out of Footloose, the upcoming remake of the 1984 musical. “Footloose is a project we’ve longed to see re-booted for a new generation. While Zac is no longer attached, we remain excited and committed to the collective brain trust of [director] Kenny Ortega, [producers] Neil Meron and Craig Zaden, who will reinvigorate the franchise,” a Paramount Pictures rep told Us Weekly Monday. “Their fresh take on the film will undoubtedly be filled with the same kind of breakout performances that we’ve come to expect from them.”

A new trailer for Vanessa’s upcoming dramedy Bandslam has been released. Bandslam also stars Gaelan Connell and Alyson Michalka.
Zac Efron instantly sheds his Disney by getting down and dirty in the April 2009 issue of Interview Magazine. Lithuanian model Edita Vilkeviciute even gets naked and lays on top of the 21-year-old actor in one of the shots.
“I think it went pretty cool,” Zac said of the shoot. “There was, like, a giant sandbox in the middle of a studio, and then I just got to roll around in the dirt for a couple of hours. I got pretty dirty by the end of it, so that was fun. It was definitely different from anything I had ever done before.”
The former High School Musical star gets interviewed byMilk director Gus Van Sant in the cover feature. Pick up the latest issue, on stands next Tuesday (March 24).

While down under, the 21-year-old miracle worker talked a bit about his cougar fans. He shared, “There are a lot of young fans — they’re beautiful and they’re amazing — but it’s the moms that get absolutely crazy. There was one, I was at this signing and there were stairs you had to walk up and everyone was coming one at a time. There was this mom that was in a wheelchair and her daughter came up and got an autograph. And the mom was like, ‘I want one too,’ so she stands right up from the wheelchair and walks right up on stage. I was like, ‘Of course, you can have whatever you want.’ I signed like ten things for her and she walked back down, sat back in her wheelchair and rolled away.”
